I am employed at BBI as a Quality Assurance Associate: A QA Associate role is about ensuring the quality of BBI products/services and ensuring that the business is meeting industry standards and regulations. I actively promote business compliance in way that adds value to the organisation. I have worked at BBI for just under 3 years. I worked as a Quality Control Scientist for two years before moving to a QA Associate role.
A QA role involves collaborating with people across the BBI business, making sure that documentation/SOP’s are clear, reviewing batch records, releasing products for sale, investigating issues with product quality and customer complaints, advising other departments on Compliance issues, performing training, working with R&D projects, auditing, communicating quality/compliance issues, sharing best practice across the Cardiff site and the other BBI sites – to name just a few just a few things!
There is a lot of variety – every day is different. I get the opportunity be get involved with all the different departments across BBI and see all aspects of the business. Also, it’s interesting – I get to take part in lots of different projects and see new products come through from R&D. In 2013 I am working to learn the ins and outs of BBI’s Quality Management System, ISO13845/ISO9001 and the wider BBI business.
